“With every breath, the old moment is lost; a new moment arrives. We exhale and we let go of the old moment. It is lost to us. In doing so, we let go of the person we used to be. We inhale and breathe in the moment that is becoming. In doing so, we welcome the person we are becoming. We repeat the process. This is meditation. This is renewal. This is life.”

Meditation
There are now 1000's of pieces of research that say why we should meditate. They all ring true to having MANY health benefits, bringing in more peace and calm, yet sometimes we just need help knowing where to start. I always say, start where you are. If you can sit and breathe for one minute, great! If you can breathe for 10 wonderful. Deepak Chopra uses mantra's in many of his meditations, and speaks of how the mantra is the taxicab that is taking you there (to the deeper relaxed place). When I help people begin this process I love using "calm" as you breathe in and "relaxed" as you breathe out. Or like it says above, "when I breathe (as you inhale), I am safe (as you exhale)". The beginning goal is just to be able to lower your breath into your belly and allow the attention of the mind to have a focus on the words. Take some time to scan the resources below.
